Job Description
The Alachua County Sheriff's Office is currently seeking interested and qualified candidates for the position described below. As a condition of employment, employees are required to participate in the payroll direct deposit program. HOURS: Full time, 8 hours shifts.

SALARY: Starting Salary: $15.7702 per hour, Educational incentive pay. $996 for Associates Degree, $2,004 for Bachelor’s Degree, $2,496 for Master Degree. Bi-weekly pay period.

DESCRIPTION: Employees assigned to this position act as a liaison between the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) and County Facilities Management/Public Works Critical Facilities on building maintenance issues. They are responsible for creating and maintaining ACSO
building keys except those issued and controlled by the Department of the Jail (DOJ).

Must be familiar with proper cleaning procedures and for ensuring that an adequate amount of cleaning products and restroom supplies are on hand. They also provide back-up to Property Custodians by ordering, receiving, recording, controlling, dispersing, and disposing of a wide variety of property items.

REQUIREMENTS: To submit an application:
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Current, valid Florida driver’s license
• Good working knowledge of computers
• Experience in inventory control, warehousing, or purchasing preferred
• One (1) year or more in general maintenance preferred
• Forklift Certification (class will be provided)
• Knowledge and ability to make minor repairs, hanging pictures, and other miscellaneous types of building and equipment maintenance
• Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities Be of good moral character, have no felony convictions or misdemeanor convictions involving moral character, perjury or false statements
• No tattoos that depict violence, gang affiliation, illegal substance or activities

SELECTION: The most qualified applicants will be scheduled for an interview with various representatives of the Sheriff's Office. Selected applicants must successfully complete the requirements of a conditional employment offer and a pre-employment background investigation including a drug test, polygraph, physical examination, and psychological evaluation.
