Apply in-depth knowledge of the operating room environment and of medical technology to be expert within the company on the clinical application of Exactech’s products and advanced surgical technology offerings.
Work in conjunction with field representation and the commercialization team to facilitate the commercial adoption of product lines and advanced surgical technologies through training, case support technical support, and target follow-up activities as needed.
Be an expert on the marketing messages and be directly aligned with the commercialization team to provide support for new and existing sales opportunities.
Actively sell the clinical benefits of the products, and build strong, positive relationships with surgeon customers, field representatives, and OR staff.
Perform in-depth on-site training and troubleshooting for OR staff, local representation, and surgeon customers to support first cases, deployment of new product lines, and clinical challenges.
Act as a technical field contact for surgeon customers to evaluate and facilitate solutions to clinical challenges.
Interface with the business unit’s consultants to facilitate their work efforts in pursuit of the established educational and development needs
Develop and lead internal training programs for new software and product launches to properly educate corporate employees and clinical teams on advanced surgical technology offerings.
Apply an analytic approach and understanding of the clinical landscape to provide detailed feedback and reporting to the business unit regarding:
Current unmet clinical needs and opportunities for future product development
Potential product enhancements
Product issues or complaints
Attend design team meetings as a clinical presence to help provide design inputs to engineering team to ensure product meets clinical user needs. Participate in and support pre-clinical verification and validation activities.
Support research efforts for both new development and for existing products. Continually self-educate with current clinical and scientific knowledge relevant to a specific business unit by reading clinical journals, attending conferences, and staying current with the competitive landscape. Attend and support tradeshows, medical education events, conferences.
Know and apply the Quality System and any appropriate Federal and International standards.
Assist and support other employees, teams, and sales personnel as necessary.
Bachelors or better in Engineering.
Masters or better.
