Biological Scientist I

Tree breeding and tree improvement activities including but not limited to orchard establishment and management, field test establishment, management, and measurement; pollen and cone collection and processing; crossing, grafting. Data management and analysis. Other duties as assigned.

• Ability to operate heavy machinery, including aerial lifts. Must be able to work from aerial lift from 20-80ft
• Pollen and cone collection and processing, crossing, grafting
• Progeny/field test establishment, management, and measurement
• Data management and analysis with MS Office suite and Some skill with programming in statistical software packages such as SAS, R or ASReml are desirable
• Coordination with cooperative members and collaborators and presentation of results at meetings
• Orchard/clone bank establishment and management

$19.16 per hour

Bachelor’s degree in biology or a closely related life science field.
