Biological Scientist I
Tree breeding and tree improvement activities including but not limited to orchard establishment and management, field test establishment, management, and measurement; pollen and cone collection and processing; crossing, grafting. Data management and analysis. Other duties as assigned.
Ability to operate heavy machinery, including aerial lifts. Must be able to work from aerial lift from 20-80ft

Progeny/field test establishment, management, and measurement
Data management and analysis with MS Office suite and Some skill with programming in statistical software packages such as SAS, R or ASReml are desirable
Coordination with cooperative members and collaborators and presentation of results at meetings
Orchard/clone bank establishment and management
$19.16 per hour
Bachelor’s degree in biology or a closely related life science field.
BS in Forest Science or equivalent; Some southern pine tree improvement experience, ability to program in statistical software
