Facilities Operations Spec
This position is responsible for managing, tracking, and coordinating maintenance of physical space, infrastructure, property/assets, inventory, vehicles/vessels, and equipment, in addition to coordinating safety initiatives, serving as liaison with various UF administrative units, and managing the Austin Cary Forest Learning Center rental facility.
Manage and coordinate operations of the Austin Cary Forest Learning Center, including interfacing with University and public users, scheduling usage, managing bookings/payments, and providing tours. Oversee event set-up and clean-up, including access to facilities and user contracts (insurance, deposits, and related). Provide on-call assistance for events, both during and after work-hours. Coordinate and/or perform building maintenance.
Manage the Annual Space Inventory and Allocation survey, including but not limited to surveying all space within the unit and verifying information on projects associated, occupants, usage allocations, etc.
Manage scheduling, repairs, maintenance, and purchase of laboratory equipment including vehicles, tools, field equipment, and safety gear utilized in SFRC teaching, research, and extension activities. Prepare equipment inventory, asset, and property management reports for the SFFGS.
Serve as chair of the SFFGS Safety Committee. Coordinate safety training and serve as Building Emergency Coordinator. Serve as liaison to EH&S for inspections/certifications for all SFFGS laboratory resources. Coordinate access to buildings and to restricted laboratory spaces and resources. Coordinate hazmat disposal and the use of safety equipment used in various laboratory settings.
Coordinate with University Physical Plant Division, IFAS Facilities and Operations, and contractors and supervise laboratory and building infrastructure maintenance and renovations.
Manage Material and Supply (M&S) and Equipment fee assignments and usage, including compliance for appropriate usage, coordination with faculty and Vice President/CFO office, and inventory oversight.
Provide as-needed additional support for SFRC special events and for faculty, teaching, research, and extension activities.
$52,000.00 - $55,00.00 commensurate with experience.
Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
For some positions assigned to this class, special qualifications may be added to the minimum, such as appropriate professional registration or certification.
