Infotech is seeking a Senior Software Engineer that is passionate about creating and implementing solutions that improve the continuous deployment of web applications and services that build our nation’s roads and infrastructure. If you are driving on a highway in North America, there is a good chance that Infotech software was used to build it. 88% of state transportation agencies in the U.S. use Infotech-developed software to manage their road construction projects. How’s that for impact?!

Who we are looking for

As a Senior Software Engineer you will support the automation and monitoring of all steps of software construction from integration, testing, and releasing to deployment and infrastructure management. You will help to create a more cohesive environment on our product team by taking ownership for deployment and maintenance. As a coding master dedicated to writing clean, test-driven code, you will be responsible for building our service-oriented architecture.

What will you do in this role?

  • Take back-end ownership and responsibility for deployment and maintenance of product features with an occasional front-end view. 
  • Confer with business analysts, data scientists, or project managers to obtain information on limitations or capabilities.
  • Lead projects from conception to completion, while regularly communicating status to supervisor and team.
  • Write clean, test-driven code that adheres to standards, practices, and conventions.
  • Test features to ensure the program can be used easily, quickly, and accurately.
  • Update, repair, modify, and develop existing software and generic applications.
  • Serve as a mentor to junior engineers and providing opportunities to collaborate to optimize the end product.

You must have

  • Bachelor’s degree and three years relevant experience preferred; Associate degree and five years of relevant experience; or equivalent amount of experience and training. 

We would like you to have 

  • 5+ years of experience with back-end software development languages and frameworks with familiarity of front-end development.
  • Motivation to hit goals and meet deadlines with exceptional results.

  • Prior experience in software development obtained through a combination of past positions or independent projects.

Infotech is a flexible employer. This position is open to fully remote candidates. Infotech’s people-first culture allows us to support remote, hybrid, or on-site work arrangement preferences whenever possible.
