Norman Studios Presents The Flying Ace Exhibition at the Cade Museum - Opens June 15th

The Cade Museum for Creativity & Invention is pleased to announce the Norman Studios presents The Flying Ace exhibition that will be at the Cade Museum from June 15th through August 18th. An exhibit preview event will be held at the Cade on June 14th from 6:00-8:00 pm. Learn more and register for the exhibit preview at bit.ly/theflyingace (free event for Cade members).
The Norman Studios Presents The Flying Ace exhibition is the result of an exciting collaboration envisioned by Phoebe Cade Miles of the Cade Museum and Barbara Wingo of Norman Studios. The exhibition highlights the early days of silent films and motion pictures - and in addition to vintage movie posters and other vintage items - a focal point of the exhibit is The Flying Ace, a silent film inspired by the life of stunt pilot Bessie Coleman.
Barbara Wingo, Norman Studios Board Member said “The Norman Studios exhibit highlights the early motion picture industry in Jacksonville and Richard Norman’s career as a producer in the silent era. The Cade Museum is a particularly appropriate venue for this exhibit because Norman’s work epitomized creativity and invention as well as entrepreneurship, just as did the work of Dr. Robert Cade, the namesake for the Cade Museum. We at the Norman Studios are extremely grateful for this opportunity to tell our unique story.” Stephanie Bailes, Cade Museum Executive Director, added “This exhibit helps visitors understand the rich heritage of motion pictures and the pivotal role that Norman Studios in Jacksonville, Florida played in this important and enduring art form. We’re thrilled to partner with Norman Studios to transport visitors back to the 1920s and help them see the evolution of motion pictures over the past century”.
