What is AI Central?

AI Central is a strategic public-private-academic economic development initiative to establish North Central Florida as the national and global center for artificial intelligence (AI). 

Starting with the University of Florida’s major, long-term investment in world-class research infrastructure, cutting-edge research and a transformational approach to curriculum, AI Central, under the leadership of the Greater Gainesville Chamber of Commerce, has the opportunity to establish this potentially powerful economic development program and create a national AI central/core.

While this initiative is beginning in Gainesville, FL, it will grow into a regional program involving the entire Innovation Corridor: Gainesville, Jacksonville, Tampa, Orlando, and Tallahassee.  

These AI initiatives have gained interest from AI companies such as Meraglim Holdings. Meraglim has already located in the Gainesville Innovation District with an office in the Hub at UF Innovate.
