Event Description:
The Black Stallion Reading Project is a five-year cooperative effort between The Ocala Horse Alliance and the Marion County Public Schools. The Program, in all 32 elementary schools in Marion County, gives all 4th graders a copy of The Black Stallion book to keep. During three weeks of in-classroom instruction, students read the book and have lessons on language arts, math and geography related to the Black Stallion book. The curriculum is approved by the Florida Department of Education.

Tim Farley, son of Walter Farley, author of The Black Stallion, will gives remarks and share memories of his father and horses.

Donation Ticket Price $50
All proceeds go towards the purchase of books distributed to all elementary schools in Ocala.
