Chef John Rivers hails from 4 Rivers Smokehouse, the BBQ joint that began in 2005 when John recruited friends to help a local family facing the increasing medical bills of their young daughter’s battle with cancer. He used his sumptuous recipes to raise the much needed funds for this little girl, the first of many causes his BBQ ministry supported over the years.
This one event sparked the demand for his Signature Sauce and Smoked Brisket that ultimately inspired John to take the leap of faith and leave the corporate world to open the first Smokehouse in Winter Park, FL. To this day every new smokehouse maintains its roots in using good food to do good things in the community.

4 Rivers is a sophisticated Texas-style smokehouse that is re-defining the art of smoking one brisket at a time. We strive to provide great customer service, top quality ingredients and a business model that gives back to its respective community and faith-based organizations. The flagship Winter Park eatery opened in October 2009, followed in April 2011 with the Winter Garden location. Today, 4 Rivers proudly serves three locations in the Central FL community as well as their brand new Jacksonville store and a full time Catering facility. In 2008, Owner and Pitmaster, John Rivers launched a line of sauces and rubs available to the consumer along with mail order brisket and other 4 Rivers specialties.
