Join the Rotary Club of Gainesville and the Saint Francis House to celebrate and welcome the brand new St. Francis House Playground with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony.
There was nothing resembling a safe playground for homeless children at Gainesville’s Saint Francis House. To answer this need, a group of young professionals, the Rotaract Club of Gainesville, raised funds and provided the sweat equity to build a safe place for these children to play.
The Saint Francis House of Gainesville has been providing food, case management, and temporary housing for homeless people in Alachua County since 1980. Because Saint Francis House gives priority to families with children, 75% of temporary residents at SFH on a typical night will be children.
The event will include speeches and refreshments as we celebrate the new playground
The official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will commence at 2:45pm.
