Name: Florida Museum to host virtual reality sea turtle experience June 16
Date: June 16, 2019
Time: 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM EDT
Event Description:
Celebrate World Sea Turtle Day at the Florida Museum of Natural History on June 16 from 1 to 4 p.m. with Project S.H.E.L.L., short for Simulating Habitat Experiences of Living Loggerheads. This education initiative uses a custom virtual reality simulation to encourage sea turtle conservation. This free virtual reality event immerses guests into the daily life of a loggerhead turtle as it searches of food. Participants will have about six minutes to find food from the perspective of a turtle while avoiding hazards like debris and boat strikes. The experience ends if the user takes on too much virtual damage or time runs out. For more information, visit www.floridamuseum.ufl.edu/event/world-sea-turtle-day or call 352-273-2064.
