About
Stop Children's Cancer was founded in 1981 by a 10-year-old girl, Bonnie, diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Her vision was to raise research funding to help the children and their families have a better future. Bonnie passed away in 1983 at the age of 12. Her vision continues. Beginning in 1985, from the donations raised, the Board of Directors stated funding researchers, equipment, and projects at UF Health. To date, Stop Children's Cancer has been responsible for over $25 Million. In 2007, Stop Children's Cancer Medical Advisory Board suggested changing direction by supporting Clinical Trials. From 2010 through 2025, Stop Children's Cancer has provided over $3 million to UF Health to support Clinical Trials and Research. Stop Children's Cancer is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization.
