Position: Emergency Screening Coordinator
Location: Gainesville, FL
Pay: $17.94/hour (non-exempt)

About the Role

As an Emergency Screening Coordinator, you will serve as the first point of contact for individuals seeking Crisis Stabilization and Detox services—providing compassionate care while guiding clients through the admissions process.

This fast-paced, hands-on role combines direct client care, critical thinking, teamwork, and detailed documentation to ensure every individual feels safe, respected, and supported during critical moments. You will work under the supervision of clinical leadership while helping maintain a safe and efficient screening environment.

Please note: This position includes potential exposure to blood and bodily fluids.

What We’re Looking For

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, health administration, or related field (preferred), OR
  • Associate degree or Medical/Nursing Assistant certification with 3 years of related experience, OR
  • High school diploma with 5 years of recent experience in acute care, inpatient mental health, or crisis settings

  • Strong customer service and client engagement skills
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple client needs in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills
  • Collaborative team player with sound judgment and critical thinking abilities

Core Responsibilities Include:

  • Welcoming and supporting clients during intake, screening, and admissions
  • Conducting vital signs, screenings (including breath alcohol and drug screens), and documentation
  • Managing client flow, minimizing wait times, and maintaining accurate records
  • Supporting a safe environment, including monitoring waiting areas and assisting clients as needed
  • Coordinating discharge processes and follow-up support
  • Collaborating closely with clinical staff and participating in team meetings
